#1 - Get A Found Pet Scanned For A Microchip!
         - All local veterinarians have microchip scanners.
               - Emergency Veterinary Clinics are open 24/7 & will scan for free
                       

               - IF a pet is microchipped & they call and are told it is NOT REGISTERED or out of date...
                 ASK FOR THEM TO WRITE THE MICROCHIP# DOWN FOR YOU!!!!
                 We have had a ton of success back tracking microchips to owners - but we need the number to do it!
 
#2 - Post on SCV Missing Pets Facebook  (Lost or Found or Sightings)
              - We can help you get a jump on the super important networking and the sooner you let us know the sooner
                 we can help!  Please post as much information as you have about the pet.  If you are concerned about posting info please
                 feel free to private message us.

#3 - Put A Sign Outside Your House: Lost/Found Dog/Cat
              - The first thing most owners / finders do is go looking in their immediate neighborhood for their pet or
                 for owners.  Putting a big sign outside the house is a great indication their pet might be there!
   
#4 - File A Report With LostMyDoggie.com!  (Lost or Found)
              - FOR FREE they send out notifications to local shelters&vets in the area

#5 - Post Flyers (Legally Please)  (Lost or Found)

#6 - Take Flyers Door To Door to Your Neighbors!

              - Extremely important tip with lost cats!!!!!!
             

#7 - Visit the Shelter (Lost or Found)
              - Lost? Don't just depend on the website, there are glitches.  ACTUALLY GO LOOK for your pet.
                   Don't just assume your pet is at Castaic either... check Lancaster, East Valley and surrounding shelters
                   Animal Control Night Pick Ups are taken to Lancaster.

              - Found? You must notify the shelter within 4 hours of finding a pet.  Also take a flyer to post on the board!
                      

#8 - File A Report on PetHarbor.com (Lost or Found)
              - Super Important becasue this system connects with local shelters and will alert you to new pets too.
